Question:
I need to disable comments. I have modified discussions, but the text “leave a reply: you must be logged in to post a comment.” still appears. I do not want to get hundreds of emails asking me how to log in. And, I do not want any comments posted on the site.
Answer:
Disable comments on a specific page.
Disabling comments is a two step process.
BEFORE pages are created, disable the comments options in Settings –> Discussion
Uncheck
If this was done AFTER a page was created, then disabling must be done within the page as follows….
- On the left menu, select PAGES… the list will appear
- HOUVER over the page that needs to have comments disabled.
- Select Quick Edit.
- Uncheck Allow Comments
